GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION
The geographical and sociological region of the South-East Slovenia is divided into Dolenjska, Belo Krajina and Kočevsko-Ribniško.
By area, the region is the largest region and has as much as 3/4 of the area covered with forest.
In relation to the neighboring countries, the geographical position of the South-East region is extremely favorable, as there are seven (7) capitals in the radius of 500 km and there are at least two (2) ports in the radius of 200 km, which enables economic openness and accessibility of the region.
The development vision of the region of South-East Slovenia for 2020 is an export economy and an open region.

ABOUT THE ECONOMY OF THE SOUTH-EAST REGION
The region of South-East Slovenia is highly export-oriented, as the share of net sales revenues achieved on foreign markets is considerably higher than the share of the country.
From the point of view of the structure of activity, the processing activity plays a dominant role. Economic companies also play an important role in the field of trade, maintenance and repair of motor vehicles and construction.
The region boasts a rich industrial tradition, which has a great contribution to the development of the region as such. Let’s just mention a few main companies in the region: Krka, Revoz, Akrapovič, Adria Mobil, Terme Krka, Trimo, Dana, Kolpa, HYB, Riko, Mikrografija, Yaskawa etc.
