A free virtual guide takes you through the historically rich heritage of the old part of Novo mesto. You will see the town’s sights in a completely new light, through the eyes of famous personalities who have made important contributions to the development of the town on the Krka River. The Franciscan monastery, the old gymnasium school, Rotovž, and Križatija buildings, and the church of St. Nicholas will be your stops along the way. The most suitable point to start exploring is at the statue of Leon Štukelj in Kandija, otherwise you can start your journey anywhere in the town.

Base 20 was the seat of the political resistance movement during World War II and is the only such secretly built and authentically preserved headquarters of any resistance movement in Europe. Through an interactive game in the mobile application, you will transform into a courier, choose your nomme de guerre and get to know how the people in Base 20 lived and worked. However, you must not forget to conscientiously cover up the tracks so that the Base 20 is not discovered by the enemy.

You then continue the experience at the village square in Šmarjeta. At the Izvir Cvička wine fountain, a guided tasting of selected local wines, which are used for composing Cviček, and other local delicacies awaits you. After the tasting, you will be accompanied by a guide to climb the lookout bell tower of the church of St. Marjeta with a beautiful view of the green Dolenjska region.The highlight of the experience will be “Dinner under the starry sky”, consisting of a four-course menu with wine accompaniment of the best local wines, served on the roof terrace of the Dvorec Gregorčič.
